residents and businesses to be able to handle important government matters digitally in any EU country. This is known as the <em>Single Digital Gateway<\/em> (SDG). Annex 2 lists the services that your municipality is required to offer online. A key component of this is that citizens and businesses must be able to make digital payments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does this mean for your municipality?<\/strong><br \/>If a resident or business owner from the EU applies for a permit or requests a document (such as a birth certificate) from you, they must be able to complete the entire process online. This means filling out a digital form, uploading documents, securely verifying their identity, and paying directly online.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iDEAL|Wero is not sufficient<\/strong><br \/>This means that if the resident abroad does not have access to iDEAL|Wero, your municipality must also offer alternative payment methods such as Visa, Mastercard, or, for example, Apple Pay\/Google Pay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why is this important?<\/strong><br \/>This ensures you comply with European obligations and provide better service, including to people outside the
